Introducing Carmouflage Rose and his sultry, R&B banger Late Nights

The Brisbane-via-Zimbabwe artist brings something fresh to the table ahead of his upcoming debut album R O S E L E V E L.

Australian hip-hop has always copped slack for being uncultured and a little bit cringy. Artists including Tkay Maidza, Gill Bates and Midas. Gold have been fighting to reverse this stigma against Australian hip-hop, and now they've been joined by another name giving them a welcomed helping hand. Carmouflage Rose is bringing a new image to Australian hip-hop, channelling some of America's biggest names with a sultry, hip-hop sound which is sure to impress many. His new single Late Nights - taken from his forthcoming debut record R O S E  L E V E L - executes this sound impressively, combining a slick, funked-up production with Rose's smooth vocals, which boast a slight dancehall-like touch which gives the Brisbane-based musician a unique edge above the rest. To get to know the promising name a little more, we sent him a couple of quick of questions about what he's all about - the perfect accompaniment to read while you're charmed by his sensual, R&B sound.

Tell us about yourself?

I’m a badass refugee from Zimbabwe, living in Brisbane and making music is my form of expression.

What’s the vibe music-wise?

Feel good music. Helping people forget what they're going thru and help them fly away for a moment with camouflage rose.

Production/writing process:

James Angus does all my production. Usually, we get a few instrumentalists in to do some live runs. The writing process all happens in the moment in the studio depending on how I feel, accompanied by a few glasses of red wine.

Can you tell us about your new single, Late Nights?

Late nights is a dark and sexy vibe. It gives you that feeling when you know you shouldn’t do something, but you still do it. This is a song I wrote especially for ladies to get on the dance floor and feel sexy.

What’s the rest of the year have in store?

Planning on releasing my album - R O S E L E V E L that I have completed with James Angus.

When can we hear more of your music?

Soon. Real soon!
