Premiere: Selfless Orchestra - Yeelirrie

Give the epic & emotional new single and music video from West Aussie post-rock orchestra a watch & listen a few days ahead of release

Nearly three years on from their stunning debut full-length, boundary-pushing Western Australian instrumental post-rock group Selfless Orchestra make their return with the powerful new Yeelirrie, which alongside its music video is premiering on Pilerats today ahead of its March 10 release!

Taken from the yulara word that means “to weep”, Yeelirrie is a monumental & dynamic cut of intense post-rock goodness, building in intensity over the tracks six minute run time to its beautiful climax and resolution.

Recorded in the abandoned Coolgardie Train Station at Barefoot Bands, the single features a compelling music video shot in the goldfields, showing the land’s natural beauty as well as the passion of those doing everything they can to protect it from the horrors of mining, particularly that or uranium mining.

Selfless Orchestra will be performing a special live set at Rooftop Movies on Sunday, March 19 to launch Yeelirrie and celebrate five decades of resistance against uranium mining in W.A. Alongside the single, the new book Yeelirrie: 50 Years of Resistance that tells “the story of a community who have fought off a proposed uranium mine in the West Australian Goldfields” - see below for more details.

In the meantime, give Yeelirrie a watch and listen as it premieres on Pilerats before it drops March 10.
