Melbourne art-punks follow up 2022 debut album with gritty new single

Back with a new stand alone single of raw & pleasurably dissonant post-punk is Heir Traffic with their new one Digging, premiering on Pilerats today ahead of its April 21 release!

Following up their debut album NO HEARTH, out on the always on-point DIY label Marthouse Records, Digging saw the quintet reach back to the origins of the group, with the single being one of the band’s earlier songs they’d written that fast became a staple of their sets while the band cut their teeth on the live stage.

Now taking it into the studio and giving it the love it deserves, Digging is an anthemic cut of post-punk, with angular guitars and a low slung bass line being met by unexpected flashes of saxophone blasts, with the lyrical melodies of singer Hugh Mitchell and guest vocalist Jemma Hollway tying it all together.

For those in Melbourne, Heir Traffic will be launching Digging at Nighthawks on April 22, with support from Propaine, Big Farmer and Tali and The Arrms, and give Digging an advanced listen below!
