e4444e is a (yes, slightly weird) name we think you're going to be hearing much much more of as 2018 rushes towards its inevitable conclusion. He has a new EP called Mr Dover & The Endless Rovers, and we're very chuffed to give be streaming it in its entirety today. The lush, dreamy soundscapes on offer are instantly engaging, with a off-kilter nature that would be so easy to get wrong, yet nailed oh so right. According to the Newcastle-based artist, the upcoming EP is an experiment in bringing nature and music together, and having listened to the seven-track EP we can attest to it feeling like a living, breathing, sonic journey through some kinda magical forest: "I live close to Glenrock and I’m trying to personalise and characterise the thing behind growing the trees around there and the movements," he says, "It’s like an ode to whatever’s going on in there and keeping it going. I was trying to relate to this guy rovering around."
Whatever he's going for, we're very very into it, and with a growing list of big-name supports (GUM, Jens Lekman, Hatchie) it would appear we're not the only ones. You can listen to it below (just click anywhere on the embed), and catch him live a few upcoming shows, including a huge EP launch at Golden Age Cinema in Sydney on Saturday 15 September. Oh and do yourself a favour and grab a pre-order HERE.
