One Day announce Summer Solstice, a "hip-hop experience" coming December

The national touring festival will welcome an individual lineup in each city, packed full of some incredible hip-hop talent.

Over the last few years, the One Day crew have cemented their status as one of the country's most important groups in Australian rap music, not just for their work in hip-hop themselves - with the group featuring Horrorshow, Spit Syndicate, Joyride and Jackie Onassis - but also their work in events and parties; the ever-popular One Day Sundays brand blossoming from a day-drinking party in Sydney to a multi-state touring company which host festivals on Perth beaches and Sunday sessions featuring some of the finest hip-hop talent in Australia.

Now, this Summer, they're taking things to the next level. Their latest venture, Summer Solstice, is an open-air "hip-hop experience" that'll take some of the best names in rap and R&B from Australia and New Zealand around the country, with individual lineups in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth shining a light on the best talent the country has to offer.

Occurring across December, the touring festival-esque venture will see Agung Mango, Kobi Spice and more hit Melbourne's Bourke Street Courtyard on December 1st; Haiku Hands, Wombat, Jess B and more at Sydney's Manning House; Nerve, Jesswar and Creed The Kid at Brisbane's XCargo; while Perth's Ice Cream Factory will play host to Hooligan Hefs - who mysteriously announced an entire Australian tour last week without Perth - plus Shadow, Jess B and local favourite Hyclass (and more).

"Watching these parties grow and seeing how warmly they’ve been embraced as we’ve connected with communities throughout Australia has been amazing," says One Day director Nick Lupi on the event, which aims to highlight and platform the best of Australia - and New Zealand's Jess B - on a whole new level; reaching over 10,000 people across the country. "There has never been a more exciting time to be a hip hop fan in this country, and we’re proud to be apart of that movement by supporting the same community that pushed us to the national stage."

As Australia's hip-hop domination continues to grow, it's great to see events like this bloom to cater this growth, and it's gonna be huge. Find the full, city-by-city lineups below:
