We'll dispense with the pre-amble for this one. Prince died while you were asleep last night, and 2016 claims another victim in its heartless mission to take away many beloved creatives. Tributes have been flowing thick and fast from anyone with even the slightest passing interest in music, and one of those that has stood our for us this morning is one Frank "where the album" Ocean posted to his TUMBLR this morning. It touches on not paying attention to other peoples' opinions of you or your art, and perhaps most tellingly, how Prince made Ocean become more comfortable with his own sexuality.
