Frank Ocean delivers with another tender new single, Provider

The track was debuted via his blonded RADIO show yesterday.

There are three guarantees in life; 1. Taxes, 2. Death and 3. Frank Ocean dropping new music will never not be a great feeling. Yes, yesterday bared yet another gift from the man who’s famously extended stint left us all questioning just whether death may approach before a new record. Debuting the track via his radio show blonded RADIO, Frank Ocean yesterday shared yet another track, this time titled Provider. It doesn’t come at any surprise really, with Provider being one of a handful of standalone releases Ocean has debuted on his radio show since his incredible 2016 record Blonde. From his Jay-Z and Tyler The Creator collaboration Biking to one of our favourite songs of the year in Chanel and his collaboration with Travis Scott titled Lens, yesterday's episode was the shows seventh installment and if you have been following it since the start you’ll know that we have just about got something new from the incredibly illusive figure since it commenced earlier this year. Of all the new material we have heard from Ocean though, excluding Chanel, Provider is by far one of the best new stand-alones Frank has given us this year. From its bizarre lyrical references that include Aphex Twin, Stanley Kubrick, Dragon Ball Z “Is you a natural blondie like Goku?” as well as a line about the film JawsI just saw JAWS, divin' under influence”, Provider is sounding like it could pass as a Blonde b-side, with Frank at his delicate R&B croony best.

Accompanying the release of the new song is a lyric video. Kitting out and souping up a boombox (that strangely features a machete), Provider’s lyric video can be viewed over on Frank Ocean’s website here.

In addition to sharing yet another new song, the shows seventh installment also featured Frank freestyling over 2 Chainz’s song Rolls Royce Bitch. You can listen to blonded RADIO over on Beats1 here.
