Listen: Aitch - Close To Home

The impressive debut LP showcasing this young rapper's refined abilities.

One of Britain's greatest young rappers Aitch releases his highly anticipated debut LP Close To Home today, an impressive 16-track release that follows a triumphant sold-out Australian tour run (including a slot at Splendour In The Grass), and kicks off his sold-out headline UK tour.

Featuring singles we’ve previously covered; the witty and confident 1989, and Baby - which we got the opportunity to chat more about with Aitch himself here, Close To Home combines effortless charisma with mature and reflective lyricism, as Aitch’s ever-growing skills as a songwriter and rapper shine through brighter than ever. Weaving intricate beats, heavy rhythmic bass lines, and infectious melodies around his fast-spitting smooth lyricism, Close To Home has the rich identifiable flavour of a Manchester record, doused in the global ambitions of a rising star. “As much as I say that I’m trying to get out of the ends, and I want to go elsewhere, I always end up back in the same place.” shares Aitch, continuing “Even across the other side of the world, I feel like I bring a sense of Manchester; whether I’m in London or Australia, I’m still Close To Home.”

Out now, be sure to give Close To Home a listen below, as we eagerly await Aitch’s return to Australia later this year/ early next year (see dates below).

Aitch’s debut album Close to Home is out now via Virgin Music Australia.
