Oh Boy & imbi the girl make your pop dreams come true on You See Me

Get up amongst the clouds, where the PC and soul worlds collide.

Oh Boy and imbi the girl have thrown a serious dose of fun into our Friday with their new collaboration, You See Me. As both Oh Boy and imbi’s first release of 2018, You See Me has truly set the tone for what looks to be another year of goal-smashing. You’re going to want to keep your ears set on the output of these two young trailblazers. Premiering on national airwaves via triple j’s Home and Hosed last night, Oh Boy and imbi the girl have meshed their respectively inimitable styles into a seriously precious recipe of soulful melodies, dancing above upbeat hi-hat rhythms and bubbly samples.

Sydney-sider Oh Boy has been at this game for a while, never straying from his razor-sharp creative vision. It shows through both his music and the moves he’s been making. These moves include teaming up with pop-rap queen Mallrat, smashing the Spotify Viral 50 charts, or racking up close to a million steaming plays. “imbi is such a sincere artist and I believe in the lyrics and messages behind imbi's music (especially in this song),” said Oh Boy on the collaboration. And imbi, who has found a whirlwind of success after just two (phenomenal) solo releases (they’ve found themselves teaming up with Spit Syndicate, nabbing supports slots galore alongside Sampha The Great, Golden Vessel, and Tyne James Organ over the past year) feels the same: “Oh Boy’s music is different to my previous work and I felt lucky to have been given the chance to dabble in a new genre with a new friendo. He has a creative gift that allows him to create not just beats or background music - he creates entire soundscapes that really transport you somewhere else,” they said.

We recommend you let this bundle of light bring you into the weekend on a high note.
