Listen: Kuren - It Still Hurts

Young NSW producer Kuren follows up his Weeknd flip with It Still Hurts, the first single from his upcoming debut EP.

About six months ago I was introduced to a 17-year-old producer out of regional NSW called Kuren, and his flip of The Weeknd's Earned It. Real name Curtis Kennedy, I was instantly blown away by the young producer's matured sound, falling in love with the soft keys and percussion of his flip that quickly earned him comparisons to local beat-maker Ta-Ku. For the past few months, Kuren has been deep in his bedroom studio recording his debut EP Love Lost (due out October), but finally he is ready, sharing his new single It Still Hurts. The single continues on from his Earned It flip's soft, melodic electronica, with a down-tempo blend of piano keys and rolling synth mixed within sly vocal samples and percussion. Named one of triple j Unearthed's top five new indigenous artists, Kuren continues to wow time and time again and you better believe he is going to continue to do so. Listen/download to It Still Hurts below.
