Listen: Duke Dumont - Ocean Drive
The Duke grants us Ocean Drive, the first from his upcoming and openly blasé EP.
Adam George Dyment, more familiarly known as Duke Dumont, is a stalwart of the UK house scene. For years and years he’s been consistently releasing hits and 2015 is no different. A testament to Duke’s success came in February of this year when his track I Got U with Jax Jones was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the Grammy’s (LISTEN HERE). Earlier in the year permanently popular Sydney-sider Wave Racer also crafted a unique stripped back remix of The Giver, which is also certainly worth your while.
We’re now in August and to treat our ears once more Dumont’s delivered Ocean Drive - a sonic slice of pop, dominated by euphoric and chanting vocals laid over a disco-enthused melody that I reckon you would have heard on a dancefloor during the 80s.
This composition is the first off Duke’s latest EP Blasé Boys Club – Part 1, set for release on October 2. Part 1 also features a cameo from none other than Chicago house icon Robert Owens that I’m itching to hear.
For the meantime, imagine you’re speeding along a coastal highway with this spilling from the car speakers:
