Listen: Cosmo's Midnight & Lido - Falling Out
An upbeat, chord-packed new single from the boys before they head on their EP tour next month.
Between Walk With Me (featuring the up-beat, feel-good vocals of KUČKA) and their return single Snare (which featured Wild Eyed Boy on vocal duties), Cosmo's Midnight had a 2015 for the record books, earning themselves an extended and active fanbase, as evident if you went to one of their many shows last year (like our first At The Pile show). Having just released their full EP Moments last month, the duo have been dripfeeding releases from the EP onto the web. Most recently, they uploaded the charming, synth-packed Falling Out, which features Norwegian star Lido. Continuing on with the glittery, happy-go-lucky vibe of the EP, Falling Out is a more stripped-back and syncopated piece of work than Snare or Walk With Me.
On this one, Lido tosses in his signature chord and synth stabs across a soft, pitched melody. Lido's handiwork shines through in one particular spot on Falling Out. There is a moment when the keys and organ progressions kick in after the first drop subsides, which builds and builds before crashing into the second breakdown of the single. Speaking about the collaboration, Patrick & Cosmo admitted that Falling Out was one of the longest tracks to finish on the EP - "we first started it with Lido when he came to Australia last year and we slowly polished it and sent it back and forth across emails until we had it sounding perfect, needless to say we are really happy with what he brought to the track" and we can't help but agree that the collaboration has birthed something special. Listen to the collaboration below, and be sure to catch the Cosmo's Midnight boys as they set off around the country for their EP tour next month, including special guest KUČKA and a super exclusive Adelaide show with IRL and URL friend, Wave Racer.
