When they’re not getting up to some cheeky mischief like their Bogan Beer Bobsled, Booorloo-based band The Mess Around can be found on stages around Boorloo - or in the studio, where they put together their new single Want You Back, premiering on Pilerats today!

Offering a very tongue-in-cheek guide on how to win back a lost lover, Want You Back opens with summery, surf style guitars before kicking things up a notch, resulting in a blistering, melodic, sing-a-long inducing slice of poppy punk goodness.

The band elaborate on the inspiration behind the single, saying "We have all been in that relationship where one person is a tad more obsessed than the other. This song is for the people that realized the moment after a breakup, that slip ups were made, regret sets in and there’s the realization it was a mistake. “Want You Back” is a fun demonstration of showing your love for someone, beginning the romantic chase to portray how much they mean and ultimately get them back in your arms."

Having recently played festivals like WAMFest and Blossom, sharing stages with Mitch Santiago, King Blue and Dear Sunday and racking up streams on a myriad of playlists, Want You Back is the latest feather in The Mess Around’s cap.

Out June 28 and being launched at the Indian Ocean Hotel on June 30 (see below for more details), give Want You Back a first listen!
