Listen: White Summer - I Know A Place We Can Love

If you’re a fan of Kingswood and QOTSA then meet your new favourite band.

Sharp guitar licks and a heavy bass line open up White Summer’s current single I Know A Place We Can Love before sliding into a chorus riff straight out Queens Of The Stone Age’s Rated R era. But instead of letting the massive riff consume them like QOTSA often do they slip it off with a falsetto and pounding guitars, and close out the song with some introspective guitar work compared to the opening clashes. Heavy rock isn’t a genre a lot of Australian bands are delving straight into but if you’re a fan of Kingswood’s re-imagination of 70s rock then White Summer should be alright for you.
