Premiere: Perth's The Little Lord Street Band returns with Frankies Back In Town

The guitar-backed Perth outfit shined in 2018, and it looks like they're backing it up in 2019 too.

The Little Lord Street Band are legends amongst the WA band circuit, with their unique blend of indie-laden country pushing them forward as a band that works for both traditional country audiences and something more forward-thinking and alternative; reaching a larger and broader audience in the process. As a result, they're amongst WA's formidable bands and are beginning to turn heads interstate too, something that became evident with an explosive 2018 that saw them showcase at BIGSOUND, pick up a WAM Award for Best Country Act, and tour their third EP Waking Up Next To You - a six-track exploration of The Little Lord Street Band's left-field sound and the many forms it may take.

It's seemingly something continuing into 2019 with the release of Frankies Back In Town, the first taste of their forthcoming debut album expected sometime later this year. Frankies Back In Town is said to encapsulate the album's entire feel, which is said to be larger-than-life as they tackle more maximalist-esque edges of their music often otherwise only teased at. "It’s a song that represents the band, says the group on the single. "I know bands say that, but it’s like… everybody’s all in. It’s a big, celebratory song that we all love to play." You can catch them do exactly that as they launch the single at The Basso on June 28, but until then, dive into Frankies Back In Town below as we wait on more news of their long-awaited debut album.
