Sampha brings the soul to his long-awaited new single, Timmy’s Prayer

Oh how we've missed that voice.

You might have seen this man’s name feature on tracks by Kanye West, Drake and Katy B, but Sampha is taking back the mainstage with new single Timmy’s Prayer. With a voice that oozes warmth and nurtures a feeling of solace, Sampha keeps it simple with minimal kicks and a characteristic offbeat reggae bass line. The track has been mixed to replicate that old-school vinyl sound, and it adds an imagery of Sampha singing in a 1920’s jazz or blues dive bar. He also gets deserves major songwriting cred for his beautifully worded lyrics, exploring the metaphor that love can be like a prison.
