Today’s addictive bop is brought to you by Jewel Owusu. Teaming up with MC Mali Jo$e and producer Namesake, they’ve crafted the altogether too catchy ode to ending toxic friendships that is Ur not my friend.
Fusing modern r&b and pop sensibilities into some vintage UK Garage styles, Namesake’s production works perfectly with Owusu and Jo$e’s vocals being constantly in the pocket.
Owusu was recently named one of the winner’s of the Triple J Unearthed Collab Comp to work with the one and only Jake Webb - Methyl Ethel (that I got to ask about briefly in our recent feature interview) - and we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
