Premiere: GANZ takes Doja Cat's Casual for a spin in new edit
Arriving hot of the heels of his latest single, the remix sets the Soundcloud favourite up for a brilliant remainder of 2019.
Since the 'Soundcloud explosion' dating way back in 2013/2014, GANZ has blossomed into a figurehead of the international electronic scene that, through consistent experimentation and adaptation, has managed to hold a sense of longevity and relevance all these years later - something that can't necessarily be said for many others pushing synth-driven sounds into the forefront back in its hey-day. Throughout the years, he's collaborated with names including our own What So Not and Maribelle to bring fresh ideas to his versatile and genre-ranging sound, which at times, can range from the synth-pulsing future-bass he became known for to quick-firing house and subtle electronic-pop, each intricately created with GANZ's dedication to top-tier production and sound design.
While they were definitely more prevalent in the age of copyright-free Soundcloud, his edits and remixes have been a driving force for his career over the years, and we're stoked that in 2019, this is continuing. Fresh off the back of his latest single Carry Me, today we premiere his soaring flip of Casual, one of the break-out hits from Australia-bound Doja Cat. The edit sees GANZ take the original's distinct hip-hop sound and add a rich pop twist to it, capturing the anthemic shade of the original and fleshing it out above electronic rhythms and clanging percussion. "Being a huge Doja Cat fan, I’ve been pumping this track since it came out," he says on the remix. "Somehow, the vocals just got me from the first time I heard the song - then out of nothing I heard it... flip done."
As aforementioned, the remix arrives off the back of his latest single Carry Me, and with plenty more to come before the year's out, there's no denying that 2019 may be the year that GANZ puts himself back on top. Dive into the remix below, and stay tuned for more.
