Motez and Tkay Maidza team up for Down Like This

Motez and Tkay Maidza team up for Down Like This

Down Like This further solidifies Motez's status as one of Australia's best producers.

When Tkay Maidza blew up in 2014 with her Switch Tape mixtape, she dropped Trouble, a Motez-produced banger that closed off the EP. Although the song didn't become quite as popular as Switch Lanes or M.O.B., the track was one of the biggest songs from the 18-track release and left us hanging for another collab as soon as possible. Over a year since the release of the Switch Tape mixtape, Adelaide's finest have teamed up once again for Down Like This, an absolute belter of a new single. Whilst Trouble was a more vocal-central single, Down Like This flaunts Motez's effortless production skills, with his signature house charm layered over Tkay's up-beat and fun vocal hook. The real star of Down Like This is the drop, which sees Motez layer a percussion-soaked deep-house beat over some extremely well-done vocal chops for one of the most complex, yet most polished house drops I've heard in years. Following up from his Vancouver EP and remix of Sam Smith's Leave Your LoverDown Like This is the first single from Motez's upcoming EP, which is quickly starting to look like it's going to be one of the most ground-breaking releases to come out of the Sweat It Out camp.
