Listen to Kaytranada flip a Mary J Blige classic
After taking some time to belt out a couple of originals and production work, the legendary Kaytranada flip has returned.
Having risen to fame through a series of now world-class remixes (Janet Jackson's If edit, his remixes of Disclosure's January, Flume's Holdin' On and Chet Faker's Talk Is Cheap is a good starting point if you're unfamiliar), Kaytranada has returned to his remixing days, having pumped out a few remixes within the past two weeks of 90s R&B classics. His latest one is of Mary J Blige's 1997, Lil' Kim-cameoing single I Can Love You, which sees the original's smooth and delectable R&B sounds give way for Kaytranada's signature bass groove, with Kaytranada putting his master touch on the single without screwing with the well-loved, sensual vibe of Mary J Blige and her vocals.
The remix, as previously mentioned, follows on from a few other flips he's dropped over the past couple of weeks, including this one of Janet Jackson's Alright which was released just yesterday.
