Listen: Djemba & Maribelle - Shout

The first taste of Djemba Djemba and Maribelle's joint project, released through new Australian label Crush Club Records.

Both world-renowned artists on their own terms, LA-based producer Djemba Djemba and 20 year old Australian vocalist Maribelle have been absolutely slaying it throughout this year, whether it be production credits on Major Lazer's Peace Is The Mission and Alison Wonderland's Run, or vocal features on Carmada's On Fire. With Djemba Djemba's talent as a seasoned beat-smith and Maribelle's soulful treble, it seems the two artists have been destined to collaborate in one way or another since day dot and today, it's finally happened. Teaming up under the Djemba & Maribelle alias, the tag-team have released Shout, a bubbly number of electro-pop sporting a ferocious synth-heavy beat by the Team Supreme king that works perfectly with Maribelle's almost Janet Jackson-esque vocal talents. Released through new Australian label Crush Club Records, Shout is a track you just know will be popular, with the single tantalizing the taste buds of everyone from commercial radio heads to next-big-thing talent searchers, and everyone in-between. Speaking about the collaboration, Maribelle says "things come together naturally when you share the same vision and passion for music with somebody. Shout is about being real with yourself and letting go of the things that are visibly ruining you. If you can't see it, the people who love you generally can. We wrote Shout because we felt like people could definitely relate to it on a personal level – whether it be about themselves or somebody they care about who is going through a hard time". Shout is the first of many singles to come from the duo, and features an official lyric video that can be streamed/sung-along with below.
