Disclosure revisit their old days with new single, Moonlight
The Lawrence brothers' journey to album number three continues with a sample-driven house jam.
In January, UK house duo Disclosure announced they were sidelining their Wild Life Festival until 2019 to record their upcoming third album, the first since their pop-infused, collaboration-heavy sophomore Caracal back in 2015. Three months ago, the brothers teased said album with the Fatoumata Diawara-featuring Ultimatum, and now they've given it another crack with its second tease, Moonlight. Moonlight sees the Lawrence brothers revisit their classic house sound before Caracal or even their famed debut Settle, choosing to skip a guest feature in favour for basing the single on a vocal sample – When I Fall In Love by Swedish a capella group The Real Group, Pitchfork mentions.
With this soulful, jazz-infused vocal sample leading the way, Disclosure masterfully piece together a more relaxed take on their distinct percussive house sound, uniting crisp snare and a thumping kick drum that really has us counting down the days until their third album – expected late this year – is officially announced.
