The Genesis Owusu news many of us have been waiting for is finally here, with the follow-up to his acclaimed, award winning 2021 debut album Smiling With No Teeth announced today, with STRUGGLER set for an August 18 release.

Alongside the album announcement comes new single Leaving The Light that sees Genesis further hone his party-starting brand of post-punk meets hip-hop while taking cues from dance music production, with the result an addictive & relentless cut that builds to an epic crescendo and resolution.

Meanwhile the video channels abstract science fiction vibes, with incredible costume design that sees Owusu trying to survive in a lava filled post-apocalyptic hellscape, with the visuals perfectly matching the song.

On top of all of this, Genesis has also announced a massive U.S. tour during October and November (as well as a handful of European shows), before returning back to Australia in December for what’s sure to be some massive post-album shows - see below for all Aussie dates, and give Leaving The Light a watch!
