Listen: Lo - GTY

The indie-pop songstress announces her forthcoming EP with the release of an infectious and hazy new track.

Fresh off the success of her recent single Giver, Lover, Pet (which you can read more on here) reaching #2 on the AMRAP Metro, and receiving a well deserved artist spotlight from triple j Unearthed, Boorloo/ Perth based indie-pop songstress Lo is back with her second single since signing to samesame Records: GTY, a track that comes alongside the news of a forthcoming EP set for release this September.

With sizzling drums, trills of hazy electric guitars, and layers of angelic harmonies backing Lo’s crystal clear vocals, GTY wraps you up in its lush and comforting aurora with a sound that juxtaposes its narrative. The singer-songwriter sharing “This track went through many different changes. It started off as a much slower song played on acoustic, but I’m always a sucker for contradicting the music and lyrics.” continuing that GTY (standing for good to you) ”is basically a big whoops, I fucked up, and I’m here to face it. Sometimes knowing you’re the person that caused the pain is worse than the pain of being a victim of it. The guilt and shame of being someone you don’t want to be.”

Out now, be sure to soak in every second of Lo’s beautiful songwriting in GTY, as a glimpse into the honest lyricism and infectious hazy pop sounds we can expect with the release of the full Shy Panic EP come September 1.
