Miss Blanks, Muto, Mickey Kojak & more announced on stacked EMCPlay Lineup

Five venues. Three nights. Over 50 acts.

Clubbing heavyweights S.A.S.H, dynamic record label Of Leisure, and a bunch of budding homegrown artists are letting loose in Sydney later this month for the highly anticipated 2017 edition of EMCPlay. Pioneered by Asia-Pacific’s Electronic Music Conference, EMCPlay is a series of parties and showcases highlighting the best of Australia’s electronic music scene and giving us all an excuse to go out midweek.

Never ones to play by the rules, S.A.S.H are kicking off Electronic Music Conference with a pre-event show at the Sly Fox Hotel in Enmore on Tuesday 28. The house tastemakers are welcoming international legend Fred P to their warm up with Robbie Lowe, Garth Linton, Pip Dalton and Taridas on support duties. Across the way in Chippendale, Freda’s will house both Of Leisure and Mellum x House Of Mince’s showcases that sees the likes of Plantlife and Eduardo Muchacho, along with Various Asses and Jikuroux (respectively), flex their talents.

This year’s stellar EMCPlay Hub lineup was once again curated by triple j Unearthed’s music director Dave Ruby Howe – a man who’s no stranger to artists on the brink of success. Miss Blanks, Austen, Elkkle and Tiber are just a few names that will be taking the stage at Chippendale’s Lansdowne Hotel on Wednesday 29; paired with a second showcase the following night, featuring Muto, Mickey Kojak, Annie Bass and Matka. Just in case there wasn’t enough to choose from already, Refuge x Double Up x One Hit Agency are taking over The Chippo on Wednesday night, with Parallel Artist x Sync Artist Management bringing it home on Thursday night. Redfern’s Cake Wines cap it all off with a Liveschool x Ableton User Group collaboration the first night and an EMC showcase with Lord Echo and Sampology the second night.

Looking for something a little more casual to spark up your night? Electronic Music Conference has also partnered with Surry Hills’ institute Golden Age and Chippendale’s Palace Cinemas to bring this year’s best music documentaries straight to you, in exclusive cinema screening form. Major Lazer’s Give Me Future, Grace Jones’ biopic Bloodlight and Bami, along with Pioneer and DJsounds’ Why We DJ are just a few titles ready for the big screen.
