Listen: Sunny Reyne - Carefully

Soak up the new single from Naarm’s emerging and exciting new neo-soul/jazz artist, Sunny Reyne

Continuing the cities tradition of producing some seriously talented musos in the broader “neo-soul” space (think Hiatus Kaiyote, 30/70 etc) is Sunny Reyne, who today gives us her sultry new single, Carefully.

Produced by Lewis Moody (30/70, Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange), Carefully pairs stripped, head-nod inducing drums with an engrossing guitar hook and occasional twinkling keys and shimmering synths shining through, all underpinning the star of the show - Reyne’s rich, engrossing vocals.

Of the track, Reyne explains “Carefully is about the constant battle with our internal voice and the oftentimes impossibility to quiet it. I tried to play into that lyricism with the way I wrote the song by using slightly disjointed rhythmic values in the chorus to work against a more floaty, freer approach to the melody in the verses.”

Give Carefully a spin and keep your eyes peeled for an EP later in the year!
