Premiere: The Tongue brings a grimy new sound on You Got Me

Featuring recent Hermitude collaborator, Mataya.

You Got Me feat. Mataya is the first offering from Aussie hip hop royalty The Tongue's upcoming album, and it's an exciting first entry into new sonic territories for the battle MC. Whether it's working with the likes of Hilltop Hoods' Suffa, Illy and Thundamentals to Aus' dance kings Bag Raiders, The Tongue has been pushing himself and the sounds of Australian hip hop into new realms, and You Got Me is the fruits of those labours.

The track is dark, throbbing beast, with triple-time hi-hats, 808s and retro synths underpinning his ever on-point wordplay that teams up perfectly with Mataya, who you'll probably remember from Hermitude's recent big single, The Buzz. Stream You Got Me below, and start prepping for the release of The Tongue's next album, which will be released at the end of the year on Elefant Traks. You can also catch him live Saturday October 17th at Gingers in Sydney (tickets via MOSHTIX).
