Murda Beatz takes over OVO Sound Radio with a collection of new releases

With Migos, Lil Yachty and PARTYNEXTDOOR along for the ride.

It was probably only a matter of time before Canadian based producer Murda Beatz made some kind of significant connection with the powerhouse that is OVO Sound, and it finally came through earlier this year with production by Murda Beatz finding its way on to the tracklist for Drake's hugely popular VIEWS album. Over the following months, Murda Beatz would reconnect with the OVO head Drake on collaborations No Shopping with French Montana and Back on Road with Gucci Mane. Now, Murda Beatz has linked up with OVO Sound again to help curate the latest episode of OVO Sound Radio, and premiering a handful of hot new releases in the process.

And, of course, it wouldn't be an episode of OVO Sound Radio without coming with some serious heat.

Buzzin' (ft. PARTYNEXTDOOR) — Lil Yachty

Only two weeks removed from the release of Lil Yachty's latest full-length offering, Summer Songs 2, the 2016 XXL Freshman reappears via Murda Beatz and OVO Sound Radio with arguably his hottest release yet. Grabbing OVO artist PARTYNEXTDOOR (himself only two weeks away from the release of next studio album P3) for the feature, Lil Yachty unloads the same quirky, unique vocal stylings that have made him one of the year's hottest buzzing artists over murky, dark production stylistically typical to Murda Beatz.

Trapstar — Quavo

Quavo, a member of Atlanta trap trio Migos, is a frequent collaborator of Murda Beatz, both as a member of the aforementoned Migos and as a solo artist. For this effort, Trapstar, Quavo tries to live up to his track's title, grabbing a slightly more subdued and elegant Murda Beatz production in the process. The first of three Quavo solo released unveiled by Murda Beatz during his appearance on OVO Sound Radio, there's no word yet on where, if anywhere, these solo efforts might eventually land.

My Pockets — Quavo

Quavo's second solo release unleashed on the latest episode of OVO Sound Radio finds Murda Beatz returning to his dark and ominous production, flexing the murkiness of his sound between Quavo's trap melodic flow. A short, but sweet effort, Quavo goes even further to show himself off as arguably Migos' most talented member.

Cuffed Up (ft. PARTYNEXTDOOR) — Quavo

OVO act PARTYNEXTDOOR reappears for the third Quavo solo release, finding both PND and Quavo tapping in to their trap R&B talents over dreamy, kaleidoscopic production from Murda Beatz, who accompanies the sounds of the two artists with exquisite ease, truly demonstrating production talents beyond his humble years. Though fans were initially hopeful that this might be a slice of PARTYNEXTDOOR's impending album P3, it later emerged that Cuffed Up is, in fact, a solo release from Quavo instead, adding further weight to hopes the Migos member may be planning a solo release in the coming months.

Show'll Is — Migos

Murda Beatz, inarguably, cut his teeth primarily as a producer through his work with Migos, and it is made extraordinarily clear on this effort precisely why the Atlanta trio have turned so frequently to the young producer. An extraordinary pairing, Migos reconnect successfully with Murda Beatz for this track, just in time before the producer threatens to overshadow the Atlanta act with his own talents. For now, at least, the two share billing on this effort.
