Coming up through the US punk and riot grrrl scenes, poet, artist, and musician Mykki Blanco blurrs and challenges genres from rave, trap, to their punk influence into a captivating experimental hip-hop sound that celebrates queer and trans experiences. With a forthcoming album Stay Close To Music due for October 14th, Blanco unveils their latest single, the LP’s opening track Pink Diamond Bezel

Teaming up with producer and multi-instrumentalist FaltyDL to craft their sonic universe into reality, “It just transported me,” shares Mykki on the collaboration, continuing “It enabled me to dream in a way that I had never dreamed with my own songwriting. All of a sudden, I felt like I had this template where I could make that sound my own.” With the fun bubbling synths, live flutes, deep beats, distorted guitars, and angelic layered singing contrasted with slick bars, Pink Diamond Bezel is both beautifully lush and sensationally gritty. Capturing a poppier, more upper tempo side of the artist, Mykki Blanco continues to share their talent for skillfully crafted, pleasantly unique releases.

With the full LP only a couple of weeks away now, we can’t wait to hear what Mykki Blanco has in store for us - but for now be sure to soak in all the rich textures and smooth melodies Pink Diamond Bezel has to offer below.
