New Music: Jai Paul - Str8 Outta Mumbai (BenZel Remix)

BenZel offer a brilliant complement to the British beatmaker's track.

BenZel are the duo of Two Inch Punch and Benny Blanco (who for ages moonlighted as Japanese teenagers). They executive produced Jessie Ware’s latest album Tough Love, and at the end of 2014 gave us an original EP with Men, which featured big name guests in the shape of Cashmere Cat and Juicy J. I fell in love with them a couple of years back when they first emerged on the 'Cloud with the dizzying, electronica-sampling 90s R&B number Fallin' In LoveWhat. A. Track.

Today they've popped up a remixed of the chameleonic British producer Jai Paul' 2013 track Str8 Outta Mumbai. They've turned the energetic original into a more ambient offering, dropping down the vocal and bringing in some cool drum loops that make the most of Paul's Indian-inspired percussion. Pretty incredible stuff. And something to tide us over until Paul puts out his long-awaited next album - which is happening when, we're not sure. Jai had a bunch of (possibly new album) demos leak, then unleaked, not too long ago - by Jai himself, or someone else, we'll never know. Last we heard he was in the studio with Miguel. Listen to BenZel's remix below, along with their Juicy J and Cashmere-featuring track.
