Introducing Miss Blanks and her ain't-nothin'-to-fk-with new single, CLAP CLAP

"Internet celebrity, fashion icon, rapper, visual feast, ya man’s fantasy & everything in between."

Following a huge set recently at the sold out Transgenre Festival, and the announcement she'll be joining the stacked lineup for VIVID's Women In Electronic Music Showcase AND Dark Mofo, Brisbane rapper Miss Blanks has just released a stomping new single CLAP CLAP, and its tough af video clip. She's already spent the first quarter of 2017 releasing a bunch of shit-hot singles, and we're ashamed that we're this late to the party. But as they say, better late than never, so get around that new single, and learn yourself up on another of this country's exciting young rap talents:

Tell us about about yourself?

My name's Miss Blanks - I’m your internet celebrity, fashion icon, rapper, visual feast, ya man’s fantasy, and everything in between. I grew up in Brisbane, Australia, before making my international debut (for work - yawn!) in cities like New York, London, Dubai and Paris. I’ve been on the (music) scene since September 2016 and run a club night, Femme Fetale, between Brisbane and Sydney.

What’s the vibe music-wise?

The look is very ‘New-York-banjee-cunt’. I like to think my music gives people this freeing, powerful, sensual feeling. Y’know, that feeling after you’ve just came and you’re just laying there? (Unless you’re with me then the feeling is usually embarrassment because you came to quick and I’m about to kick you out because I’m not a Hilton hotel and you’re not staying the night).

Production/writing process:

My writing process is pretty fluid. I’m always open to new ideas and I’m all for asking the universe for what I need. When you ask, you shall receive (guidance is usually something I tend to ask for). Most times, I usually have something I need to get off my chest that I’ve written down prior to jumping into the ‘writing zone’, but then other times I’ll recieve a beat or work on a beat and ideas just come to me. It’s all about figuring out how can I best exploit this beat and what can I do to best serve this beat when I’m writing.

Can you tell us about your new single, CLAP CLAP?

Sure! CLAP CLAP is the ultimate anthem for shaking ya (and having a fat) ass. I wrote the song with Brisbane producer, tomtom, back in January/February. Because of the heavy use of bass and claps in the track (my personal favourite), we started playing with this idea and because we have such an appreciation for boss honeys with a fat ass, it all kind of came together. OH! And this lil Tinder fuck that I was gettin with made fun of my fat ass (“maybe if you loss weight it wouldn't be so big”), so I  HAD to come through for all my thicc honeys....

What’s the rest of the year have in store?

The team and I have been working really hard. We’ve just announced my single release tour for CLAP CLAP, we’re currently working on the next music video and I’m in the middle of creating my mixtape! You can expect 2017 to be full of shows, great music, great collabs, and an awesome merch line coming real soon, along with some additional surprises!

Where can we hear more of your music?

You can hear a majority of my music on Soundcloud but it’s available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, and Youtube, as well. Stay tuned through my social channels for updates on new music!
