Listen to a big new collab between UK rap heavyweights Dave and Fredo, Money Talks

The collaboration arrives as a part of Fredo's new record Money Can't Buy Happiness, which also features Summer Walker and Pop Smoke.

You don't have to tell us about the excitement surrounding the UK rap world, especially its next generation. Sure, it can be hard to look beyond the dominative reigns of acts like Skepta, Stormzy or even recent chart-topper and Manchester MC Aitch, but the names of tomorrow are the ones we've found ourselves falling in love with time and time again; each niche and facet of the UK's multi-dimensional rap world feeling represented in a way that flexes the scene's diversity and range.

Fredo and Dave are two rappers amongst the upper echelon of the next-generation, as rappers who may be well-established now, but truly feel like they have their best yet to come. Fredo, for example, has found himself on up-next lists since his debut back in 2017, even eyeing full-scale international success through 2018's Funky Friday (which also welcomed the beginning of his collaborative partnership with Dave). Dave, meanwhile, is a near-household name, lurched forwards thanks to his acclaimed 2019 record PSYCHODRAMA, which felt like a pioneering moment not just for the rapper but for hip-hop as a whole.

As just mentioned, it's somewhat fitting that the two have a collaborative partnership that's grown parallel to their respective careers. They teamed up for Funky Friday in 2018, before re-linking together for All I Ever Wanted on Fredo's 2019 record Third Avenue, and now brings the third chapter in the form of Money Talks, plucked from Fredo's newly-minted record Money Can't Buy Happiness.

It's a song that continues to amplify one another's skillset both individually and together, flirting with a hazy production as they exchange verses that hail down the competition and tear them to shreds - the song effectively being Dave and Fredo boasting their credentials and how they should be the ones reigning supreme in the year ahead.

They've got a point, too. Fredo is one of the most exciting names in the UK's hip-hop scene who seems to evolve with every release, while Dave is record-breaking - literally - being the only artist to win the BRIT Award for Album of the Year and the esteemed Mercury Prize in the same year, despite being one of the most hotly-contended years in recent UK music.

It's a brilliant moment that shows that Fredo has still got it and that Dave hasn't lost his spirit in the past year, and you can take a dive into it below, plucked from Fredo's new album Money Can't Buy Happiness (which, interestingly enough, is also executive produced by Dave too):
