Watch the video to MSTRKRFT's massive new single Runaway
Taken from their first album in seven years, due out this Friday.
With new music from Justice, Mr. Oizo, SebastiAn, Uffie, Crystal Castles and of course, MSTRKRFT already released or to be released in 2016, you'll be forgiven in thinking we've hopped in a time-travel machine and bounced back to 2007. The last in that list of names, the thunderous Canadian duo MSTRKRFT, are the most recent returnees, announcing the release of Operator - their first full-length album in seven years. The second taste of which came from Runaway, an electrifying release that saw the duo return to their dark, gritty roots with an onslaught of dark synth and vocals which has now been accompanied with an official video. Premiered on Pitchfork, MSTRKRFT's video brings up parallels with Christopher Walken's infamous Weapon Of Choice routine, depicting a seriously rad choreographed dance routine filmed throughout downtown Toronto. Set to be released on Last Gang Records, MSTRKRFT's returning album Operator is one of this year's most anticipated and will surely set a benchmark for things to come in the rest of 2016, with albums from some of that 2007 electronic era's best to come before the year concludes.
