Watch the beautiful anime short film for Porter Robinson and Madeon's Shelter

An anime fan fulfils his dream.

Porter Robinson has today unveiled a pretty special new video clip for his latest single with fellow EDM wunderkind Madeon, Shelter, coming in the form of an animated short film written/executive produced by Robinson himself, created in conjuction with leading Japanese anime streaming destination, A-1 Pictures and Crunchyroll. It features direction by Toshifumi Akai and character design from Megumi Kouno, both veterans of the anime world.

SHELTER tells the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness, and brings to life an obssession for Robinson: “Japanese pop culture and anime has been a huge influence on my music, so getting the chance to make my own anime is very much a dream come true.”

Not content with a gorgeous video clip, it also comes with a pretty stunning poster, check both out below:
