If MGMT sat down with Tame Impala to make some music together, the result I envision would be something akin to this stunning new track from Sydney duo, Rooms. Finding a perfect mesh between the electronic wowrld and live instrumentation, Stars Beyond is a euphoric slice of psychedelic pop, with a sound that is as grandiose as it is ambitious. Recorded in their home studio using cardboxes for sound treatment, the duo states, "We wanted to make something grand with real instruments. Once the founding chords and melodies were matched with a down-tempo groove, we knew the song needed to be atmospheric, orchestral and grand."
Once you take in the cinematic, luscious sounds of Stars Beyond, I get the feeling you'll tend to agree that they've wholehearted succeeded, and then some. It's available as a free download for limited time, so get around it below:
