Premiere: Hermitude's Ukiyo gets re-lit by Perth producer Gravy
Something to warm you up for the One Day Only festival this weekend.
Perth-based producer Jimmy Richards, AKA Gravy, has fast become one of our local faves. Ever since we had the pleasure of unveiling his single #JIMMYWEMADEIT a few months ago, we're always excited to hear what he's working on next. Most recently that was THIS killer re-work of KLP's Medicine, and today he's turned his attention towards Hermitude's Ukiyo, throwing down his "RE-lit" version. Each tune we've heard so far has a slightly different vibe to the last, with this one packing some funky Kaytranada vibes, although never settling on just the one groove for a re-work that isn't afraid to change up where it needs to to keep fresh: "The remix itself is very different to what I’ve been doing lately, I just wanted to show Australia one of many faces (all very good-looking melon heads). I don’t want my music to EVER be pigeonholed by genre or style, so I believe it's vital to switch it up to keep people guessing - there’s still plenty of Gravy DNA in there though."
Even better, you can grab it for free, and make sure you catch Gravy in Sydney this Saturday when he joins the One Day Only Festival playing alongside artists like Anderson .Paak, P-Money, M- Phazes, Ngaiire, Paces, Jackie Onassis, Joyride and more (details HERE).
