Nina Las Vegas is icy cool on her energetic new banger, Freeze

The Australian producer, vocalist and label boss returns to her thick club sound.

Uniting thick bass kicks with playful melodies and clangs of percussion, last year's EZY was a highlight for DJ/producer/vocalist/label boss Nina Las Vegas, with the electrifying club banger dominating as one of the strongest of that year. Since then, the globe-trotting Australian taste-maker has branched out and stepped away from the clubby experimentation of EZY a little, with last month's emotive Deserts combining a more accessible vocal line with a bubbly, yet far more mature banging breakdown. That said, her latest release - the dense and clanging instrumental Freeze - contrasts Deserts by returning to her lively, energetic club sound, a sound which she says aims to "provide plenty of bass and energy, without being too bro-y". Freeze does exactly that, blending an airy, almost Sinjin Hawke-like melody with dense layers of heaving bass and quick-firing percussion claps which keep the track focused and steady. Listen to the single below, which arrives through her constantly-delivering NLV Records.
