Listen: Nina Las Vegas & Swick - Cool Sports EP

The future is now.

Definitely someone that needs no introduction, triple j radio host/DJ/producer/ Circó alumni Nina Las Vegas has returned to the producing game with Cool Sports, her second collaborative EP with good friend Swick. Released through Fool’s Good Records (founded by A-Trak back in 2007), the three-song EP is a further demonstration of the weird, experimental electronic music explored with the first EP, Don’t Send, back last year. It all kicks off with the title track, a rapid-firing explosion of bass, looping synth and speedy percussion work, with a couple of Yoshi samples chucked in for good measure. Then, comes Birthday, an equally massive tune with a heap of heavy bass and quick-paced, Rustie-like warped synth, it’s much more trappy than the other singles on the EP and probably a bit less weird, but it’s still damn good. Ending on a bit of a slower note with Pool Girls, the Cool Sports EP is definitely an exciting step forward in the producing area of Nina’s career and hopefully just a taste of what is to come in the future.
