Listen: Ex Ex Revenge - Do What Ya Gotta Do [Premiere]

Ex Ex Revenge is the moniker of Queensland based artist/producer Josh Stewart. Fans of Brissy garage outfit The Ninjas may recognise him as that group's frontman, but his new venture trades the guitars for synths and thumping drum beats that bring to mind a mixture of Chromeo and Ratatat. Do What You Gotta Do, featuring Achdukes' vocalist Elliot Heinrich is a densely layered affair, one that starts out busy before dropping back to a rolling house beat amidst rumbling percussion and heavy synths. It's a killer debut, one that's hard to pigeonhole and that has us looking forward to seeing where Stewart takes the project moving forward.
