LANKS drops new emotional single, Comfortable, announces Oz tour
The track delves into the heady issue of mental illness.
After a monster 2016 that saw him release an EP, tour the east coast, played a heap of big supports and joined The Plot festival, LANKS is ready to take the next step in 2017 with a new single and a national headline tour this August. And in typical LANKS fashion, new single Comfortable comes with it plenty of emotion to go with the layered production, gentle vocals and live instrumentation we've come to love on previous singles like Bitter Leaf and Holla. Once again, the artwork for Comfortable has input from his Grandma Valda, with whom he compiled THIS awesome playlist last year, along with housemate/friends Will Devereux and Hayden Daniel.
On the themes of the single, LANKS tells the track was written through the perspective of a close friend who works within the mental health industry: “Mental health is still an area we are learning how to approach and talk about, and it is not an easy job to just turn up to work for and then leave at the office. It is emotionally challenging... I wrote this song to remind her how selfless she is and was, helping someone else through such an incredibly hard time and shouldering so much of their struggles and despair. The ending was heartbreaking, but I wanted to focus on how great of a human she showed she was.”
