Premiere: Mark Harding drops vid for Goodcry, announces EP tour

The Sydney producer's slick latest single comes ahead of shows in Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and Melbourne next month.

Sydney producer/songwriter Mark Harding is a name quickly gaining traction in his home-state, with his past singles - 2016's debut Say It Too especially - getting a bunch of acclaim for it's smooth and slick feeling that comes as a result of mixing soft electronica with these thick indie roots. Goodcry, his latest single, is a track in a similar fashion, uniting these softly-sung vocals with subtle percussion and hazy chords which give the single this almost church-like feel to it. It's the latest single from his debut EP due August 14, and today, it's joined by a quite DIY video that according to Harding, comes thanks to the help of a bunch of friends: "Planning the clip I had this vision of wide outdoor shots juxtaposed with extreme close-ups, but the macro lenses to get that look cost thousands of dollars," he says on the video clip. "So I experimented with a $2 magnifying glass from a party store, the result was this clear but warped view of otherwise very normal things. My partner Marcie helped me pull the whole thing together and features in a bunch of it. I borrowed this huge light from my friend (and great photographer) Matthew Vandeputte which gave everything this beautiful soft glow. One Saturday night we set up a black curtain in our living room and filmed the whole thing."

Watch the clip below, stay tuned for more info on his debut EP ahead of its release on August 14, and catch the musician at some east-coast headline shows over August and September - dates below.
