Introducing: Tigerilla

Introducing: Tigerilla

Meet Melbourne-via Adelaide producer Tigerilla and his dope new Lojack remix.

You may recall Tigerilla most recently from his work on the beat for Mallrat and the 16-year-old's debut tune, Suicide Blonde (which we premiered HERE). Well now he's got a brand-spankin' new remix out for Lojack's Lipstick feat. Maribelle (another song we premiered - HERE), and we figured it about time to get to know the man a little better. So plug in the remix below, and learn yourself:

Tell us about about yourself?

I'm originally from Adelaide but moved to Melbourne. I believe that music is the key to life, so I'm trying to use that to unlock something new and exciting.

What kinda tunes we talkin’?

I'm a bit of a mixed bag to be honest. I like to crossover between Rn&, hip hop, electronic and 90s music.

Production/writing process:

Generally starts with a chord progression, which can set the mood of the track. Then drums or percussion to identify the groove, then build from there. I occasionally write lyrics or melodies and record them in my phone first, then re-create it/sing it once a song is more than just the initial idea.

What do you do outside of Tigerilla?

I manage a young artist called Mallrat who I also produce for at this point (you guys did a premiere for her track...THANKS!). Along with that I write songs and produce beats for other artists as well as play live for Allday. Oh, and fantasise about being in the NBA.

Any shows coming up?

My next show is in Brisbane at TBC on August 28th with the homies, Gill Bates, Fek, Lojack and plenty more - get more info HERE.

And releases?

Planning to release a 'Production' heavy tape within the coming months. I will drop the first track sooooon. Don't like giving exact dates, because it's always subject to change, but very soon!

What’s the rest of the year have in store?

More writing, releasing my beat tape (which will still have vocals) and touring for that, touring US with Allday and hopefully chilling somewhere in between.

Where can we hear more of your music?

My SOUNDCLOUD has some oldies on their and also a new remix. Watch this space.
