Dugong Jr gets sensual on new, R&B-leaning single See You Again

The Melbourne producer's first single from his new EP features guest vocals from Northside and Mayowa.

Melbourne-based producer and Australian Moving Castle flag-flyer Dugong Jr has become one of our favourites producers of late, turning heads last year with the slow-burning single Secrets and remixes for Chance The Rapper. This week returns with a new single and a new EPl on lock, hinting that his 2017 may be even bigger than the year before. Taken from his forthcoming EP White Hearts (release date TBA), See You Again is a more soulful take on Dugong Jr’s colourful productions, featuring soft guest vocals from Northside and Mayowa. It’s quite a tender piece of work, enclosing layers of soft, sultry vocals, rapid-firing snares and lush synth work for something that is a little more heavy on the song-writing than the rest of Australia’s future-bass scene, for the lack of a more-fitting genre. The whole vibe of the track, overflowing with textures and conforming sounds, is sultry and sensual – perfect for its Valentine’s Day release.
