Cosmo's Midnight and Winston Surfshirt make magic on Get To Know

Premiered live at Falls Festival, Get To Know sees the two exciting electronic exports join forces to create a summery, funk gem.

Cosmo's Midnight and Winston Surfshirt were two of electronic's most acclaimed in 2017 – the former winning over Australia with the funk-fuelled History and Mind Off, and the latter seemingly appearing out of nowhere with their massively successful debut album Sponge Cake. Likewise, 2018 promises to be another big year for the two parties, who have kicked things off with the release of Get To Know – their first collaborational joint. Premiered live at Falls Festival (with Winston even jumping up for vocals in Fremantle), Get To Know is another glitzy, funk-fuelled gem from Cosmo's, with the production twins combining a Kaytranada-esque, wonky bassline with clanging percussion and their characteristically bright synth work for the track's summery instrumental, which slides in perfectly underneath Winston's oozing, R&B-tinged vocal line. It really showcases the best of both Cosmo's Midnight and Winston Surfshirt without either party coming across as too dominative and controlling – a sign of a perfect collaboration – and has us super excited to see what's to come from the two Sydney forces in 2018.
