Cashmere Cat links up with MØ and SOPHIE for experimental new single, 9

The Norwegian producer drops another stand-out single in the build up to his debut LP, Wild Love.

The long, extensive build up to Cashmere Cat's debut album Wild Love has been an interesting one. An artist formerly known for his left-field-leaning, experimental singles which dabbled with hip-hop and pop influences, singles including the title track Wild LoveTrust Nobody and Throw Myself A Party have seen Cashmere Cat become one of the most in-demand producers in the pop music world, teaming up with everyone from Selena Gomez to The Weeknd. It's something we talked about in-depth rather recently, with the pop music world seemingly taking a new, more experimental direction under the helms of artists like Cashmere Cat and the PC Music collective. 9 (After Coachella), the next tease from Wild Love, really takes this experimentation to the next level, with the producer linking up with MØ and Charli XCX-collaborator SOPHIE for a bubbly, experimental cut that will delight both sides of Cashmere's fanbase. Opening with a tropical-esque melody, kicks into this mellowed-out groove quickly, with MØ's instantly recognizable vocals layered above the crashing production. SOPHIE unexpectedly makes his mark just after the one-minute mark, switching things up for a left-field, club-ready breakdown that clangs and crashes amongst deep kicks of bass. Listen to the single on Spotify below, and stay tuned for more details on Cashmere Cat's new album - set to arrive soon (hopefully).
