Video Premiere: Dahlia Ray - Bonfire

The singer-songwriter gives us the first taste of her bubbling new pop single and its nostalgic accompanying music video.

A singer since infancy and poet since age 7, indie-pop artist Dahlia Ray shares stories inspired by her love of travelling, adventure, learning, and a desire for constant change transformed into beautiful melodies. Combining her signature pop sound with 90s sentimentality, Dahlia shares her latest raw and infectious release Bonfire with us today before its official release Friday January 20.

With soft pop textures ringing from rhythmic guitar strums and propulsive beats, confessional lyrics delivered through warm and polished production comparable to the likes of Amy Shark or Sia shine through Bonfire, making it the perfect soundtrack to reminisce those long and dreamy summer days. "Bonfire is about being optimistic about the future" shares Dahlia Ray, continuing "it's also about my mum's best friend Jan, who was a friend that became family. Jan is the oldest survivor of cystic fibrosis in Australian history. her funeral was a big party because she outlived all expectations of her and fought right through until she was 65. her attitude is something that has inspired us all and inspired this song."

Mirroring the playful charm of the track, Dahlia teamed up with award-winning photographer, stylist, and videographer She Is Aphrodite to create a fittingly nostalgic music video to accompany Bonfire. Featuring flashback to stock films and the artist herself bouncing on a trampoline, be sure to hit play below and indulge in Dahlia Ray's first single of 2023.
