Premiere: The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra - Shake That Off

Take a first listen to the energetic & inspiring new single of feelgood afrobeat sounds a few days ahead of release

Four years on from their Naming and Blaming LP, Naarm-based afrobeat party starters The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra are back with exuberant new single Shake That Off, out Thursday March 2 but premiering on Pilerats today!

Recorded live at Program Records pressing plant in Naarm’s Preston, Shake That Off manages to translate the groups electric live shows in recorded form across a nearly 10 minute aural afrobeat journey. A hypnotic, engrossing cut, Shake That Off packs polyrhythmic percussion, big bold brass and melodic backing vocals, while rapper One Sixth drops some rapid fire verses and Olugbade Okuande takes care of lead vox.

Give Shake That Off a listen today ahead of its March 2 release, and for all Naarm-based readers, you can catch them live Saturday, March 4 at Malthouse Theatre - see below for details!
