Emerging Perth four-piece cement themselves as a “must-listen-to” act with new single

On the back of a huge 2021 that saw them drop three singles and sign to the newly minted Tone City Records (Supathick, DICE, Romeo Walker), Perth’s NECTAR are back with the infectiously groovy & chilled new single Waiting on the World (Won’t Work).

A smooth slice of catchy indie-pop, Waiting on the World (Won’t Work) shows the young band’s range as they draw on elements of modern psych rock, neo-soul and jazz, with guest vocalist Ella Pilcher completing the package.

According to the band, the new singleis a statement towards the manifestation of excuses by placing blame on the world around you, if you want things to happen in your life you have to work for it and make the change, which we have been noticing a lot amongst our day to day lives especially as we are emerging as young artists. The song is particularly relevant at the moment as it is easy to find yourself in a stagnant state of life. It also reiterates that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that it’s okay to be at that stagnant point.” All too relatable.

Out tomorrow, you can give Waiting on the World (Won’t Work) a spin today as it premieres here on Pilerats:
