Listen: Thelma Plum - Backseat of my Mind

Aria-award winning, beloved Australian singer-songwriter makes her long awaited return

2019. It might feel like a lifetime since things were “normal”, but it’s really only been three years and change - roughly the same amount of time that has passed since Thelma Plum released her acclaimed, influential and defining album Better in Blak, and now the wait for new original music is finally over.

A driving, dynamic cut, Backseat of my Mind sees Plum at her catchiest best. “I’ve spent a lot of time in vans (although not recently lol) and I really wanted to write a nostalgic feeling “driving” song, which I hope we nailed!” says Thelma. “It’s been so fun to play live I can’t wait for people to hear the recorded version!

Backseat of my Mind drops alongside Plum’s The Making It Up To You Tour, a run of previously canceled shows from her Homecoming Queen tour in 2020 and 2021, as well as joining Paul Kelly for shows as part of VIVID Live before she jets off to support Vance Joy nationally during October - check out all the dates below and give Backseat of my Mind a spin!
