The unstoppable King Stingray are back and better than ever on new single and music video combo, Best Bits.

A mellow cut of uplifting indie rock, Best Bits showcases King Stingray’s instantly recognisable sound and skills at crafting ear worms that stay stuck in your head all day after a single listen.

Meanwhile, the fun and nostalgic music video depicts a fictitious 80s Australian variety TV show also called Best Bits. Opening with a scene in a regional bar, when a patron asks to chuck the footy on, he’s told there’s a stack of tapes to choose from. After popping Best Bits into the VCR, we’re treated to a nostalgic and heartwarming visual collage that intersperses some iconic First Nations moments (as a Swans fan, shout out Goodsey!) with footage of the guys recording, playing live and chilling.

Speaking on their new single, King Stingray say “‘Best Bits’ is a song about all the best parts of life all poured into one moment. Inspired by a particular moment in time, a particular day that had all the right ingredients. It’s about those ripper-of-a-day type moments, those warm days in the sunshine with your mates, with your family or a loved one. The memorable days that just seem to stick with you.

It’s about simple living in a complex digital world, and although it can be hard to articulate in just a few words, a feeling that is so massive and profound. Sometimes all the best bits of life are already all around us! Yo manymak!

Best Bits comes ahead of a July and August regional tour (dates below) for the band, while we wait with bated breath for more details on the band’s sophomore album:
